I provide editorial guidance for CIJ's Public Insight Journalism initiative, a five-year effort to use civic engagement to enrich public radio programming and do breakthrough journalism. Before coming to Minnesota, I spent 12 years at The Salt Lake Tribune, where I covered a number of national stories including the Olympic bribery scandal and the kidnapping saga of Elizabeth Smart. Before that, I managed weekly newspapers in my home state of Wyoming, including the Jackson Hole Guide.
