Lark Corbeil, based in Boulder, Colo., is founder, managing editor and CEO of Public News Service, a national network of state-based radio news services begun in 1996. Currently it serves 29 states and reaches over 24 million people per week, via more than 8,000 media outlets across the country, with a growing focus on Spanish.
Earlier in her career, she worked as a producer for Reuters TV (formerly Visnews), as a free-lance video producer and writer in New York, and briefly for Channel One (Whittle Communications) in Hollywood. Prior to that she had several positions which involved video production, teaching or communication with China and Taiwan. She has a degree in political science from the University of California at Berkeley, and has attended National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan and the Ecole Etoile, Paris, France.
She grew up in Topanga, California and McCall, Idaho and was active in many community, urban development and environmental projects while living in Boise, Idaho. She is on The Media Consortium coordinating committee, member of the Progressive Communicator’s Network and founder and board chair of Media in the Public Interest.
