Lark Corbeil, based in Boulder, Colo., is founder, managing editor and CEO of Public News Service, a network of state-based radio news services begin in 1993.Currently it serves Oregon, Washington, California, Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Nevada, Wyoming , New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota; Ohio, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and New York.
Earlier in her career, she worked briefly for Whittle Communications on Channel One, as a free-lance video producer and writer in New York, and as a supervising producer, writer and satellite coordinator for Reuters TV. She has had several positions which involved video production, teaching or commnication with China and Tiawan. She has a degree in political science from he University of California at Berkley, and has attended the Chinese culture/language program at National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan and programs at the Ecole Etoile, Paris, France.
She is on The Media Consortium coordinating committee, member of the Progressive Communicator’s Network and founder and board chair of Media is the Public Interest. She was active in many community and environmental projects while living in Boise, Idaho.
