[edit] What are the questions you hope to answer at New Pamphleteers?
In a pre-event registration survey, we asked participants: List the three (or more) things you'd most like to learn from fellow participants or experts that will allow you to be more successful in your local online news community building efforts. You may suggest speakers or experts we should invite. Are these matters a professional and business collaboration should address?
- What software are people using? Typical costs?
- What developments or new trends in online applications for publishing, collaboration, social networking, etc. are people interested in?
- What do participants think of the everyblock.org project?
- What level of interest and existing use is there of government and other public data systems?
- What level of technical proficiency is common among participants?
- How much presence do citizen journalists and placebloggers have in the open source community in terms of producing or influencing software design?
- How many people are using pre-packaged, hosted publishing systems, forums, social networks, etc? What are the costs?
- What kind of server / hosting systems are people using? Costs?
- What are good ways to generate user-created content of all kind and citizen journalism news reporting?
