Victor Pickard is a doctoral student in the Institute of Communications Research at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. His work on media activism, Internet policy, global media, and communications history has appeared in the Journal of Communication, Critical Studies in Media Communication, Global Media and Communication, International Journal of Communication Law and Policy, New Media and Society, and Media, Culture & Society.
