JTM:MN - Peggy Holman - Passion of Place

in

Peggy Holman, author of The Change Handbook, talks about how local bloggers and journalists are managing change within their communities. According to Holman, these media makers are creating change through interaction, as opposed to violent forms of change. She speaks about how successful change happens, the importance of questions, and need for multiple perspectives to be present in a conversation. Holman describes the power of personal stories, as they relate individuals to universal experience.

This video is a clip from the Journalism That Matters: The Passion of Place conversation that took place at Minnesota Public Radio. Twelve citizen-journalists -- "placebloggers" -- gathered on Friday, June 6, 2008, to discuss what motivates people to launch a local online news community and what are their challenges, their successes, the opportunities, vision and passion which accompany this work?
