Wales, Newmark, Dyson sign up to judge "Sunshine Week" contest opening up Congress
Submitted by Bill Densmore on Sun, 02/25/2007 - 23:49.
Three prominent Internet entrepeneurs have signed up to judge a Sunshine Week challenge that aims to spotlight the activities of Congress. The Sunlight Foundation is offering a $2,000 prize for the best website which displays public information about the U.S. Congress, pulled from public data sources. The contest judges are Esther Dyson, a tech investor, entrepreneur and onetime newsletter author; Craig's List founder Craig Newmark; and WikiPedia co-founder Jimmy Wales. The websites are termed "mashups" -- or websites which combine data from two or more sources in new ways. Visit www.sunlightfoundation.com/mashup for contest details.
