From http://www.beepcentral.com/info/aboutbeep.aspx :
Beep is a unique blend of alternative media and citizen journalism targeting 21- to 34-year-old readers in Chicago's suburbs.
Go ahead, click around. Read our stories and tell us what you think. Talk back to our bloggers, and tell them why you love them or hate them. Go to the message boards and make your voices heard. This is your site, so have at it!
The more you complain, complement and kvetch, the more lively the site will be, and the more likely your comments will become part of our print edition, which will be launched in the summer. You see, we'll be taking the best stories from the Web site each week and putting them into a free print product that we'll put around the suburbs, and we're going to put the best comments from the Web site in the print edition. You'll be famous!
Beep has five main content areas: Get Smart (news), Get Out (entertainment), Get a Life (lifestyle), Get Played (sports) and Get Together (community). In addition to stories, each section features bloggers writing on related topics in personal and provocative ways, Web polls and forums so you can sound off and debate.
Beep was founded in 2006 by Paddock Publications, the publisher of the Daily Herald. Beep covers Cook, Lake, DuPage, Kane, McHenry and DeKalb counties.
